We had a cold and rainy Easter, but the food was delicious! After lunch I drove down to visit my dad and took him a plate of lunch. We had coffee and chatted for a while, then I took him to get his groceries. I always enjoy my visits with him and wish life wasn’t so busy and I could make more visits. On our shopping trip to Dallas Friday we did find Kalli a dress for her 8th grade dance that is coming up April 9th. After shopping we ate at Saltgrass, which was yummy! I will be making her a hair appointment for highlights sometime this week. Matt and I will go order his tux tomorrow for his Senior prom that is April 16th. Very busy month up ahead. We didn’t get much at all done on the room this weekend so I am still in the basement, but glad it has warmed up a bit. It gets rather chilly down there. Wendi sent me this darling sigtag. Thanks Wendi! If you would like one for yourself just click on mine to visit Wendi’s Lil Doodles.

Except for Monday because of the rain, I have worked in my yard every afternoon after work. It is really starting to take shape, but still have a lot to do. I still have not made it down to visit my dad as I had planned. Tonight we are going to church to watch The Last Supper. The kids are out of school tomorrow for Good Friday and we are going to Dallas shopping for a dress for Kalli’s 8th grade dance that is coming up. We have already shopped all over Tyler for a dress, but no luck there. Friday night when we get home I have to bake cookies for the 8th grade bake sale on Saturday, and will have to be there at 8 a.m. Saturday morning to work the sale until 11 a.m. Sunday we will be going to church and then to my inlaws for Easter dinner. I’m thinking after dinner might be a good time for me to drive down to my daddy’s. The wood floor in our bedroom is completely finished and looks beautiful. I think after very much discussion over a paint color for the walls we have decided on a green color. If we are not pleased with this color it can easily be changed, but I really think it is going to look good. On the walls we are going half-way down with wood panels painted green and then the bottom half will be block panels that will be stained. The window frames and doors will be antiqued. Well, that is the plan as of right now! I can’t wait til it is finished and I can get some pics to show you the outcome.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Rudy and I worked all weekend long on our bedroom floor. We got it all down, sanded and one coat of stain. We are temporarily residing in the basement! This week I have been working on the rent account and household income tax stuff, which led to cleaning out files and getting better organized, which led to some spring cleaning, LOL! I have cleaned out the fireplaces and going to get some houseplants to put there. All ceiling fans are clean, as well as the windows on the back of the house. Still need to do the front windows, but will have to wait until Rudy brings home a ladder from work. Our new Brookshires opened yesterday. I haven’t been yet, but will visit today or tomorrow. I’ve heard that the deli is awesome, as well as the fresh fish and seafood department. I’m not getting a lot of reading in, but have started my Chick Lit read and also reading “The Power of a Praying Parent” by Stormie Omartian, which I do recommend for all parents. This book is awesome!!

Yesterday, I found out that the company I am working for is requiring us to work 2 weekends a month! I have been working 1 weekend a month and that was okay, but 2?? I am in the process of finding another online account. I was off yesterday so I spent most of the afternoon cleaning out 2 of my flowerbeds and now have only 4 more to go. Everywhere I look there are beautiful plants to be purchased and I am so tempted, but I am trying to hold off until I get all flowerbeds cleaned. As you know in my previous posts we are remodeling our bedroom so I spent today moving furniture, cleaning, removing nails, hammering nails, throwing out a lot of junk, etc. I am beat and probably headed to bed soon. I did manage to order my Chick Lit reads for April and I have joined a another group called Webgurls.
