Happy New Year’s Eve

High 72, Low 55My family is coming this afternoon for our Christmas/New Year’s Eve get together. I started cooking yesterday and have only one more thing to prepare. Our County Judge did ban fireworks in our area thank goodness. We have only had one family in our area lose their home due to a fire, unlike the Dallas area. Last night we watched “The March of The Penquins”, which is a documentary told by Morgan Freeman! Very enjoyable and educational. Have a safe and Happy New Year!

Unbelieveable Temps

Published by Tracey under Family, General, Movies/TV

nullHigh 80, Low 58 Can you believe these spring-like temps we are having. I wore my flip-flops today with my jeans when I went to get my hair trimmed. Christmas evening all the family went to see “The Family Stone” and loved it! Kalli and I had thought about going to see “Rumor Has It”, but I have heard so many bad reveiws on this one so I think I will save my money and just add it to my Blockbuster queue. I am taking advantage of the warm temps and cleaning up outside, raking leaves, and storing some of my planters. We have had tons of Red Robins here the last few days but by the time I grab my camera and get back outside they are gone. Tomorrow I will shop for our New Year’s Eve/Christmas dinner that we will be having here with my family. Unless we get a good rain between now and then, there will not be any fireworks. We are in a drought and under a burn ban again, but the fireworks are still selling. Doesn’t make sense to me, but I hope more people around here will use their common sense and not do fireworks, at least not the ones that shoot off. Kalli is waiting on me to watch “The Wedding Date” so good night dear friends.

Pics from Winter Park

Published by Tracey under Family, General, Holidays, Vacation

Merry ChristmasHigh 72, Low 57 We had so much fun on our trip to Winter Park, Colorado but I was glad to be home. I have been busy getting last minute things together for Christmas. Tomorrow we will have lunch at my in-laws, play games, watch the Cowboys, have snacks in the evening and open gifts. My family want be coming until New Years Eve so we have all of Christmas Day to ourselves. This will be the first time ever that we don’t have to rush around on Christmas trying to prepare dinner for other family members or be somewhere else. I am looking forward to that and I have planned on having a Christmas brunch. Later in the day we will have a turkey that Rudy got from a client, along with dressing, and veggies. Below are a few pics from our trip. Rudy wouldn’t stop skiing to go on the sleigh ride so he missed out on our group pic of all of our family that went with us. My pics are a little big, but I don’t have time right now to do anymore editing. I have many visits to make and will try to get around to visit everyone in the morning. Hugs and blessings my dear sweet friends…

Getting Ready To Ski

Published by Tracey under Family, General, Social Events, Weekends

nullHigh 65, Low 34 I finished my shopping this weekend and everything is wrapped with the exception of one gift that will be delivered via UPS. We had a great time and discovered a neat little plaza in Plano called Lakeside Market. There they have a store called Weir’s Furniture that has great prices along with nice furniture and accessories. Rudy and I did our Christmas shopping for each other together. The “Dallas Christmas Festival” was beautiful. Looked like “Broadway” with all the lighting and special effects. It definitely wasn’t amateau. It was 3 hours long, which Rudy pointed out to me, but I hadn’t even noticed. Tomorrow, I am getting our things together for our ski trip. We leave on Friday and though we have most of our ski gear from our trip last year there are still a few things I need to pick up like a few more pairs of thermal underwear. I have ordered a set from LL Bean that is made of Chinese Silk that I can’t wait to try out, but they were rather costly so I will have to get a couple of cheap sets too. I need to go now and finish my dinner. We are having pot roast with roasted carrots, squash, and potatoes. Hugs and Blessings!
