We’re Home

We got in last night around 6:30. We had a wonderful time but tiring…going constantly. It rained on us part of the way down on Friday but by the time we got to the River Walk it had stopped. We visited the Alamo and shopped around on the River Walk. While strolling in and out of shops Rudy and I enjoyed a margarita. After dinner we went to the IMAX Theater and watched The Haunted Castle. It was 3D and made you feel like you were in the castle. Pretty neat. Saturday we were at Schlitterbahn and enjoyed the water rides. It didn’t rain on us at all that day and I ended up with a bit of sunburn but not too bad. Sunday it rained on our way to breakfast but by the time we got to Fiesta Texas it had quit. At 9 that night they had a laser show which was awesome. We stopped at IHOP on our back to the hotel. Monday on our way home we stopped in San Marcos at the outlet mall there. It has been a few years since I have been there and boy has it grown. Lots of shopping for Monday. I didn’t take many pics since most of our activity was on water rides and rides at Fiesta Texas but here is one of the kids at the River Walk.

Packing!

I love to pack :giggle: I haven’t put our things in suitcases yet but I have them laid out. I always take a few extra things in case I change my mind on what I want to wear for the day. Today, I am just doing last minute things…getting money for our trip, having our mail and paper held, double checking with family friend to make sure she will be able to take care of the animals. Yesterday, I spent a good deal of time cleaning. I love to clean before I go so I can come home to a clean house :vacuumsm: I also finished up work and will deliver it this morning. I won’t have to pick up any work until next Wednesday. Last night after So You Think You Can Dance I went to bed to read :book: I’m halfway through The Kite Runner and loving every bit of it. Have a wonderful Thursday :feedducks:

Playing Catch-Up

I didn’t have much to write about so I skipped posting Monday. We did have a nice dinner Sunday with all of the kids here and then we played Yahtzee! We finalized our plans for this coming weekend with our trip to San Antonio. I hope the rain clears out before we go. I saw on the news yesterday they have had some flooding. Either way, we are leaving this Friday on a weekend trip, whether it be to San Antonio or somewhere else. After I made coffee Monday morning I picked up Kite Runner and read the first 3 chapters while sipping coffee. This is going to be a great book. I did get my Bible study caught up too. Actually, I got caught up on a lot of things…bill paying and checkbooks balanced, then I cleaned out my closet and got it all organized. I spent the afternoon working on my course. Today, I am headed out early to pick up work and stop by Wal-Mart and Office Depot. Enjoy your Tuesday

Thank You

Thank you all for your prayers for my dad. They mean so much to me. I had a much better day yesterday. I talked to my dad Friday night and he was already feeling much better from his new meds and sounded really good. He said for the past 2 nights he has gotten a good nigths sleep, not having to get up to get on his breathing machine. While Rudy was out playing cards I finished my book “Until The Real Thing Comes Along” so I’m ready to start on one of my new ones. I think I will start with “Kite Runner” but I need to work on my Bible study before I begin a new book. I have gotten behind on that. Saturday morning Rudy and I went to a local vegetable stand. They had fresh peas a lot cheaper than I had priced them at a few other stands so I got 2 bushels, a couple of canteloupes, and 2 more jars of their homemade salsa that is so delicious. We took our goods home and left to see my brother-in-laws house they are building. It is in the very early stages so you couldn’t tell much about it. After that we went to lunch and then to the grocery store. I came home and put groceries and started putting up peas. Today I am going to church and then coming home to put up the other bushel of peas. Matt and his girlfriend Julie are coming for dinner. We are having pot roast, mashed potatoes, and fresh cream peas. Have a wonderful Sunday!
