It’s Official

Matt’s start date has been officially confirmed for May 5th. We just got the news on Saturday evening so that gives us a week to find an apartment for him and get him moved. I am going to take this week off from blogging since I have a hectic week before me. I had already told another clinic I would pick up work this week and then I have my other two regular accounts to do also, and now of course look for an apartment. Here is how our weekend went…Friday I picked up a few plants and found a darling garden stake with a daisy and ladybugs. Picture is below. We couldn’t decide on takeout for Friday night so on the spur of the moment we called Shoguns Japan in Tyler to see if there were any reservations still available. There was one at 6:30 so we all got ready and headed to Tyler. This is one of those places where they cook all of your food in front of you and sit with other families. It was really good but a bit pricey so it’s not a place we will dine often. Afterwards we stopped at Baskin Robbins for icecream. Only Rudy and Kalli had icecream. Me and Matt were too full from dinner. I worked Saturday morning and then in the afternoon Rudy and I cleaned the front flowerbeds out and got them ready to replace some of the plants that didn’t make it. Kalli had left to go eat with her Elkhart friends for their prom. She called shortly to see if I could meet her in town at the Civic Center (where the prom was being held) and bring her prom dress, shoes, and accessories because while they were eating she was asked to go to the prom. He is just an old friend of hers from her old school. Apparently, he and his girlfriend broke up but the GF was still going to the prom with him and backed out at the last minute leaving him without a date. Kalli is a sweetheart and couldn’t say no.

Much Better

Thank you for the get well wishes! I am feeling much better now. I did get my work delivered Wednesday and picked up more but was feeling pretty rotten when I got home so I just took it easy the rest of the day. Thursday was a good day! I worked the morning then met Rudy and Matt for lunch. I haven’t eaten much in 3 days so it didn’t take much to fill me up. After lunch I met my dad at Cavendars Western Wear. He had gift certificates that we gave him for Christmas that he hadn’t used yet. He was able to get 3 pairs of pants and 2 shirts. He came home with me and we visited and had coffee. He was still here when Kalli got home from school so he got to visit with her too. In the evening, Rudy and I headed to the grocery store and made it home just in time for Survivor. Last night was a full night of TV. I watched Survivor, Grey’s Anatomy, and ER, and still have in my recorder Criminal Minds and Without a Trace to watch. Today I am going to finish up my work and not sure what else I will get into. Have a wonderful weekend!

Feeling Yucky

 emoticon emoticon emoticon

I woke up with a headache Tuesday morning and it stayed with me through the day. It even got so bad I felt nauseated at times. As long as I layed still with my eyes closed I was okay but if I tried moving around too much I felt sick to my stomach. I have had this before and the doctor describes it as mild migraines. They usually come on quickly and leave quickly but this one lingered even after I took my prescribed Tylenol. Thank goodness I had my work finished but I was too sick to drive in to deliver. They told me not to worry about it and just bring it in today if I felt better. I was feeling a lot better by late evening and didn’t have to miss American Idol or DWTS. Last night was our Founder’s Day get together with other sorority groups so I hated missing that but it just couldn’t be helped. We have a 30% chance of rain today so I think I will just take it easy and try to get my work delivered later on today.

Fun Weekend

Friday night Rudy and I had takeout and watched two great movies…Juno and American Gangster. Matt and Kalli were both out with friends so it was nice it just being the two of us for a change. It actually got up in the 80’s on Saturday so we spent the day mowing, weed eating, and cleaning up and then went to my sister-in-laws for a hamburger cookout and homemade icecream. It was late when we got in and then Sunday we were up early getting ready for church. The Pollard First United Methodist Church Handbell Choir performed all throughout the service and they were awesome. We had a church luncheon right after the service. I ended up taking my Oriental Salad which is always a big hit and so easy to make. Then after church me, Rudy, and the kids all headed to Tyler to do a little shopping and didn’t get home until almost 9 p.m. It’s been a busy but fun weekend, but all good things must come to an end says the pile of work on my desk. So you guessed what I’m doing today.

Stormy Night

Published by Tracey under Blog Things

I wasn’t sure which weather mini to use. We are expecting rain this morning then clearing out in the afternoon. I am headed to the clinic this morning to drop off my work then going to get groceries. We have a luncheon after church on Sunday so I need to figure out what I’m going to take and get those ingredients while I’m at the store. Does anybody else hate grocery shopping as much as I do? I’m not even sure why I hate it so much because it doesn’t take that long, but I would rather be doing anything else besides that. Now, I love to go to Wal-Mart and get things for the house as long as I don’t have to go in the grocery department. I guess it’s just one of my little quirks  I haven’t gotten to watch Survivor yet. All we could get on our Dallas channels were the storm tracker. They were hit with hail and thunderstorms and possible tornadoes. I haven’t heard for sure if there were any tornadoes, and the storm was headed this way later on in the night but since I post the night before I don’t know yet how bad our storm is going to be. I did hear that it had died down a good bit after leaving the Dallas area so we may not get much here.
