Happy Halloween

Do you have your candy bought for the little trick-or-treaters? We live in the sticks so we don’t ever get any and I really miss not getting to hand out candy to the little ones. As you know from my Wednesday post that Rudy is in Chetopa, Kansas deer hunting with his bow. I talked to him last night and he and the guy he is with have both seen some pretty big bucks but neither one have gotten a good shot at them. They will hunt this morning then head home so I am expecting him home by early evening if everything goes as planned. It has been nice not having to cook, but I am really starting to miss him. Last night, Kalli and I attended her cermony for the National Honor Society Induction. I am so proud of her for getting into this organization. It is not a popularity contest at all, but based on your leadership, service to the community, character, and grades. Your qualifications are viewed by board members made up of teachers, the principal, the superintendent, and other members, and then voted on. Only five seniors were inducted.

Monday morning we woke to a temp of 34, the high was only in the 60’s. Tuesday morning was in the 40’s. I am loving this cold weather. Rudy had a change of plans. He was planning on going to Kansas hunting this weekend but instead they left Tuesday morning and will be back Friday night. I spent Monday night helping him get his things together so they could leave bright and early. When Kalli got out of school Tuesday she and I headed to Tyler. She has a Halloween party to attend and they have a huge Halloween store with all kinds of costumes. She found a race car driver outfit, lol! We shared a meal at Olive Garden and then headed home.

This has been a real laid back weekend. Rudy and I went to eat Friday night. Kalli took my car with several of her friends to the game. Saturday we worked on her college scholarships that are due today, and then in the evening went to my sororities fall socail we have every year. We had a great time and it ended with a hayride. Sunday was church and then home to watch the Cowboys. They won this week against Tampa Bay! Kalli was actually at the game with some friends.

Wednesday Whimsy

Published by Tracey under General

I had a pretty busy Monday with work and just some general cleaning up around here after the weekend. I put a roast with lots of veggies in the oven around 4, and by 5 my house smelled so delicious. The smell sure put a smile on the faces of everyone who entered! Sometimes I wish I didn’t work at all so I could just spoil my family with all of their favorite foods every night, but then I would have to exercise more and well who wants to do that?! The weather continues to be gorgeous with lows in the 50’s and warming up to the high 70’s. Today on the other hand, is supposed to be down in the 40’s this morning with a 30% chance of rain, and even colder on Thursday but with sunshine!

I am so sorry this post is late but I couldn’t get in to my site yesterday afternoon or evening and finally gave up around 11 PM. Kalli didn’t win homecoming queen but she looked beautiful.
