I just have a little bit of work today and then I am going to start my cooking for tomorrow. I am going to try to get as much done as possible today so we can have more time visiting tomorrow. Kalli got out of school early yesterday and came home saying her throat was hurting again. She just had a sore throat last week, so I called our doctor and he saw her an hour later. It turns out she has strep. They gave her a shot of penicillin and put her on a 5 day course of antibiotics. She’s not running a fever so he said she isn’t contagious! Actually, she doesn’t even feel that bad! Not much to talk about so I did a few blogthings. Continue Reading »

Monday Melody

Friday night for mine and Rudy’s date night we ate at Texas Roadhouse. We didn’t have much luck at Linens and Things. Even though they are going out of business their prices were still very high. We came on home after that. It was nice just getting away for a couple of hours, just the two of us. Saturday, I didn’t get out of my pajamas. I got the laundry caught up and cooked breakfast when Rudy returned from deer hunting, but other than that I watched movies and college football and lazed around all day. Sunday we went to church and then to El Toro for lunch afterwards. We got home in time to watch the 2nd half of the Dallas versus San Francisco with Dallas winning! Then Kalli and I went to see Twilight. It is a great movie! Neither one of us have read the book, but now we want to. I heard several people at the movie say that even though it was a great movie, a lot of what was in the book was left out.

Date Night

Rudy and I are going to Tyler this evening for dinner and maybe a movie. I want to see Twilight, but I don’t think he will like it, so we may skip the movie. I also want to stop by Linens and Things. They are going out of business and I need some new pots and pans. I could also use new bath towels and dish rags. I’m hoping to find bargains! The last couple of days have been really nice with the highs in the low 70’s, but last evening the wind started blowing and the temps were dropping fast. Our low is expected in the 30’s and a high of 50 for the day. Not sure what else my weekend will involve but will let you know on Monday! See you then!

Never Found

The big buck was never found and neither was the arrow Rudy shot him with. He did come on home Monday night as planned and will go back around the first part of December. He met a guy that was staying at the same motel that had been there hunting for 11 days straight! When Rudy goes hunting that is all he does and that is why I stay home and not go with him. It would be so boring for me. He gets up way before daylight and hunts until around 1 PM then grabs something to eat and goes back around 3 PM and hunts until dark. When he gets back to town he eats, showers, and goes to bed so he will be ready to repeat the process the next day. Like I said…BORING! Monday I worked all day and then Tuesday I had lots of laundry to do with the return of the hubby. I just had a little work Tuesday so I didn’t mind the laundry at all. We had a chicken casserole for dinner and Rudy built our first fire in the fireplace for this season. We mostly just relaxed and enjoyed each other’s company in the evening.
